Terrifying and magnificent, this large A3 linocut print depicts Cerberus, the legendary three-headed hound who guards the gates of the Greek underworld. With snapping jaws, a serpent’s tail, and a gaze that pierces through the veil of life and death, Cerberus stands as both sentinel and symbol—blocking the living from entering Hades, and the dead from ever leaving.
Born of Echidna, the monstrous half-woman, half-serpent, Cerberus embodies the wild and otherworldly power of Greek mythology. This handprinted homage captures his ferocity, grandeur, and ancient role as a divine protector of the underworld’s secrets.
Painstakingly crafted using richly pigmented Cranfield oil-based ink on high-quality paper, each print begins as a detailed hand-drawn illustration, then is carved into linoleum and printed by hand. At this larger scale, every line and mark tells a story—and you can even watch the process unfold on my Instagram, where I share behind-the-scenes glimpses into the creation of each piece.
As with all linoprints, slight imperfections may occur—these are not flaws, but part of what makes every print truly one of a kind.
